About Me

With a passion for sports and a background in professional table tennis, I bring a unique perspective to sport psychology.

Early Beginnings in Sports

Sport has been an integral part of my life since birth. My parents introduced me to table tennis at a young age, and by the time I was 13, I had earned a spot on the Slovak national team. Throughout my career, I became a multiple-time Slovak champion and achieved success internationally, winning titles in countries like France and Italy. I also competed in multiple European and World Championships, with my most notable achievement being a 17th-place finish at the World Youth Championships in Australia.

The Mental Game and My Path to Sports Psychology

As a former professional table tennis player, I realised that the mental game is one of the most crucial aspects of performance. This understanding inspired me to pursue a degree in psychology at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. During my final year, I had the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ program in Valencia, Spain, where I gained valuable practical experience.

Further Education and Specialisation

After completing my bachelor’s degree and gaining an additional year of practical experience at the National Youth Table Tennis Centre, I decided to move to England to specialise in sport and exercise psychology. I pursued my master’s degree at the University of Portsmouth.

Personal PHILOSOPHY

How I Work

I believe in a holistic approach that nurtures the athlete’s physical, mental, emotional, and social growth, creating a strong foundation for both performance and well-being.

Holistic approach

My philosophy is rooted in a holistic approach that goes beyond athletic performance, emphasising the overall growth of the athlete. I integrate physical, mental, emotional, and social aspects, recognising their deep interconnection and mutual influence.

Collaboration

From my perspective, collaboration is the foundation of success when working (not only) with athletes. The goal of this cooperation is to build a trusting and open relationship between the athlete, coach, and psychologist, enabling effective communication and understanding. This way, we can work together to achieve optimal results and help the athlete navigate challenging situations, whether in training or competition.

Flexibility

I believe that every athlete is unique, which is why I tailor my methods to their individual needs. My flexibility allows me to adapt to their strengths, challenges, and specific requirements, resulting in an effective and personalised approach.
